Watching Big Bang Theory - Penny proposed to Lennard, he didn't say yes because she was drunk - he should have said yes, then let her take it back if she wanted later when she sobered up.  Basic geek fail trying to be too honest.

A kinder, gentler nation

I can see why right wingers look to history and declare that every government eventually collapses.

Most civilzations strive to make things easier for their citizens, who then get soft, and are destoyed by the barbarians.

But what if the softies have nukes?  Perhaps our military might will allow our nation to get softer towards our citizens, with making life easier as a goal that might not end up destroying us as it has in every other empire.

Good day today!  The Boy made his first basket, 5 years 2 months old, third 5-7 year old league game.

Hope that starting him early will help develop skills, while not pushing him too hard. I think he really likes the recognition.
